Overview
EventsFinderMap is built to be privacy-first. We design the extension to work without creating user profiles or collecting your information.
This policy explains what the extension does, what information may be processed to provide the service, and what may be handled by third parties you choose to interact with (such as ticketing sites).
Information We Collect
EventsFinderMap does not collect or store any personal information such as your name, email address, precise location history, or a record of the events you view.
Information We Process to Provide the Service
To show events for the map area you're looking at, the extension must process limited information:
- Map area (approximate coordinates): When you use Google Maps, the extension reads the visible map area (e.g., latitude/longitude bounds and zoom level) so it can request events relevant to that area.
- Event data requests: To retrieve events, the extension sends the visible map area information to external event data providers (APIs). This information is used only to return events for the area you're viewing.
- Local caching: To improve performance, event results may be stored locally in your browser for up to 30 minutes. This cache stays on your device and is not a user profile.
Third-Party Services & Links
Event data providers: We use third-party APIs to fetch publicly available event information. Those providers may receive limited technical data as part of standard API requests (for example, map area parameters and basic network information). Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Ticketing / external websites: If you click "Get Tickets" or open an external link, you will be taken to a third-party website (such as a ticket provider). Those sites may collect information from you according to their own policies. We do not control their practices.
Technical Information (Important Note)
Like most online services, third-party API providers (and in some cases hosting providers) may automatically log basic technical information needed for security and reliability (e.g., IP address, request timestamps). EventsFinderMap does not use this information to identify you or build profiles, and we do not attempt to associate it with you. If you want to avoid any exposure of network identifiers to third parties, you should not use features that contact external APIs.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information.
Because EventsFinderMap is designed not to collect or store personal data about you, we have no user data to provide, delete, or export. However:
- you can clear the local cache by clearing your browser/extension storage
- any data collected by third-party services you interact with is governed by their privacy policies and should be directed to them
Chrome Permissions (Why We Need Them)
- Storage: used to cache event results locally for up to 30 minutes to improve performance.
- Google Maps / site access: used to read the currently visible map area so we can display relevant events.
- Network access (APIs): used to request event data for the map area you're viewing.
